“So frei die Ros auf den Almen erblüht –
so frei sei das Wort, so frei das Lied…“
Unter diesem Motto singt der MGV Almrose Radenthein seit über 100 Jahren.
Seit der Gründung im Jahre 1912, durch Arbeiter des in Radenthein ansässigen Magnesit-Werkes (die heutige RHI Magnesita Radenthein), hat der MGV Almrose Wesentliches zum kulturellen Leben der Nockstadt Radenthein beigetragen.
Musikalisch geführt durch viele bekannte Chorleiter, wie Sepp Ortner, Peter Altersberger oder in jüngeren Jahren Heinz Buchacher und Andreas J. Moser, hat sich der Chor stetig weiterentwickelt. Viel Engagement bei den Probenarbeiten, die Gründung des Kinderchores und des Jugendchores und das „über den Tellerrand schauen“ haben den Chor dorthin gebracht, wo er heute steht.
Der MGV Almrose präsentiert sich in einer Stärke von 35 Sängern im Alter von 17 bis 75.
Erfolgreiche Teilnahmen an großen internationalen Wettbewerben, viele Auftritte im In- und Ausland und verschiedenste CD- und Video-Produktionen bezeugen das aktive Vereinsleben des MGV Almrose.
Das Liedrepertoire geht vom Alten und Neuen Kärntnerlied, über Geistliches und Spirituals auch immer wieder in Richtung U-Musik, wobei es ein großer Vorteil ist, dass viele Instrumentalisten im Chor vorhanden sind. Auch Eigenkompositionen einiger Chormitglieder (allen voran natürlich Andreas Moser und Heinz Buchacher) werden gerne gesungen und bereits von vielen anderen Chören hinausgetragen.
Daneben ist „die Almrose“ aber weit mehr als nur ein Chor, sie ist wie eine kleine Familie, wird doch vor allem auch die Geselligkeit bei Wanderungen, gemeinsamen Familienausflügen, Schiwochenenden und vielen anderen Aktivitäten großgeschrieben.
Und so wird die Almrose, wie es so schön im Motto heißt, auch weiterhin blühen.

„As free as the rose blossoms on the alpine pastures –
so free be the word, so free the song…“
The MGV Almrose Radenthein has been singing under this motto for over 100 years.
Since it was founded in 1912 by workers from the Radenthein-based magnesite plant (now RHI Magnesita Radenthein), the MGV Almrose has made a significant contribution to the cultural life of the Nockstadt Radenthein.
Musically led by many well-known choirmasters, such as Sepp Ortner, Peter Altersberger or, in more recent years, Heinz Buchacher and Andreas J. Moser, the choir has continued to develop. A great deal of commitment during rehearsals, the founding of the children’s choir and the youth choir and „thinking outside the box“ have brought the choir to where it is today.
The MGV Almrose has 35 singers aged between 17 and 75.
Successful participation in major international competitions, many performances at home and abroad and various CD and video productions bear witness to the active club life of MGV Almrose.
The song repertoire ranges from old and new Carinthian songs to sacred songs and spirituals, and also includes popular music, whereby it is a great advantage that there are many instrumentalists in the choir. Original compositions by some choir members (above all, of course, Andreas Moser and Heinz Buchacher) are also popular and have already been performed by many other choirs.
In addition, „die Almrose“ is much more than just a choir, it is like a small family, with a focus on socializing during hikes, family outings, ski weekends and many other activities.
And so the alpine rose, as the motto says so beautifully, will continue to blossom.
